A 16-year-old girl who authorities say shot and killed her roommate after allegedly shooting her in the head and killing her sister in an apparent suicide has been identified as the alleged victim’s roommate.
According to LA County Sheriff’s Lt.
Todd Hennigan, the victim was in a residence on Sunset Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard, just west of the intersection of Sunset and Broadway, on Tuesday morning.
The incident began with an argument, and the girl allegedly told her roommate she had killed her and the victim’s sister, Hennigans said.
The suspect then allegedly took the victim into her home and shot her, authorities said.
She died at a hospital.
Her roommate, a 14-year old boy, was arrested and booked into the Los Angeles County Adult Detention Center on suspicion of second-degree murder, Hernigan said.
She was being held on $1 million bail.
The sheriff said investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s Homicide Unit at 213-760-1712.
