What does it mean? 

The Premier League is littered with strikers who score the most times, as the top scorer is in the league at 438 times.

This season, Manchester United have five of the top 10. 

This means that, in terms of the most number of goals scored in a season, there are four of the six best-scoring strikers in the Premier League this season. 

The top-scoring striker this season is United’s Wayne Rooney, with 547 goals in the season, which he scored in all competitions.

The two others are Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid and David Villa of Aston Villa, with 468 goals apiece. 

There are also six players who have scored more than 100 times in a single season.

These are Sergio Aguero of Manchester City, with 875 goals in all competition, while Romelu Lukaku of Everton has 845 goals in just 25 games. 

Another four players have scored at least 90 times, with Gareth Bale of Tottenham Hotspur and Wayne Rooney of Manchester United both scoring more than 90 times in their respective campaigns. 

However, it is the third highest number of total goals scored by a player this season with the likes of Romelo Lukaku, Gareth Bale and Romelanu Lukovic all scoring more goals than 100, with the latter scoring more in all matches than the former. 

Manchester United’s Gareth Bale has scored more goals for his club this season than any other player in the division.
